Bali Private Villa and Hotels, The way to find of great holidays

Gangsal Villa (6Br)

Gangsal Villa is a peaceful beach front oasis of three luxurious self-contained villas, each with a private swimming pool, located at the traditional fishing village of Seseh, on Bali’s southwest coast. The villas complex comprises the 6-bedroom Villa, the 4-bedroom Villa, and the 2-bedroom Villa. Guests may rent any one of the villas on an individual basis. Alternatively they may choose any combination of two villas, or large groups may wish to rent the whole complex with its grand total of twelve bedrooms, accommodating up to twenty-four guests.

Location
Encompassed by nature, within peaceful rural surroundings, Villa Gangsal is only twenty-five minutes’ drive from the fashionable shops, world-class restaurants and vibrant nightspots of Seminyak, and about forty-five minutes’ drive from Bali’s International Airport. Easily accessible sporting amenities include the neighbouring ‘Canggu Club’, and the ‘Nirwana Bali Golf Course’, which was designed by Greg Norman and voted the number 1 golf course in Indonesia. For horse lovers, the ‘Umalas Equestrian Centre’ is just a few kilometers away. The majority of the island’s tourist attractions are also within easy reach.

This Villa is an ideal venue for weddings, parties and events, with the facilities to cater for up to 200 people. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Indian Ocean, the extensive flat lawns are bordered by towering coconut palms and complemented by a white Palimanan stone stage, ideal for Balinese dance performances, while also being the perfect spot for saying “I do”.

Gangsal is characterized by contemporary tropical architecture, open-air living, an abundance of light, and the constant sound of the breaking waves. Facing west, the rooms are designed to maximize the dramatic coastline views enhanced by Bali’s legendary sunsets. The villas are bordered by rice fields, and the world-renowned surf beach of Seseh is just footsteps away at the end of the gardens. From here it is also fun to watch the local fishermen going out every day in their colorful jukung outrigger boats.

The approach to Villa is by way of a country lane. Emerald rice fields line the road as it meanders through an avenue of coconut palms. Colorful temple ceremonies, together with farmers in conical hats riding rusty old upright bicycles, are a common sight.

The gated entrance is heralded by stone pillars, waterfalls, and a serene Buddha statue, together with a majestic travellers’ palm, lotus ponds, and sweet-scented frangipani trees. Each spacious villa is set within its own garden, and each boasts a private swimming pool. Common facilities include a secure car parking area and a 24-hour staffed service area, complete with a fully equipped service kitchen, laundry and villa manager’s office.

The largest of the villas, Villa Gangsal can accommodate twelve guests. This stunning villa boasts six air-conditioned bedrooms positioned on three different levels, together with a 9 x 17 meter swimming pool. The swimming pool is 1.4 meters in depth at the deepest end, and it utilizes an advanced salt water filtration system that is soft on the earth and gentle on the skin. In the shallow end of the pool is a table with a sun umbrella and a bench submerged within the pool; this is a great spot for cooling down and enjoying a refreshing in-pool drink. Another precious feature incorporated within the pool is a pair of submerged relaxation beds, ideal for literally ‘chilling out’! The timber pool deck is partly sheltered by a wooden pergola dripping in flowering thunbergia; it is furnished with stylish, comfortable sun loungers that can be pushed together.

Living & Dining Area
The expansive lounge and dining area features a cool polished concrete floor under a soaring thatched roof. It is open on four sides and is efficiently cooled by natural sea breezes and paddle ceiling fans. It opens directly onto the pool deck and is furnished with a pair of large, sunken, L-shaped sofas at the front, and a further two built-in cushioned daybeds upon the elevated area at the back. The clever duo-level design of this room ensures that guests will always have a view of the pool and garden extending to the beach, wherever they choose to lounge. The dining area is furnished with a large table that can comfortably seat twelve. There is also a teak desk and some innovative furnishings with a red patina, designed by the owner. The living area is equipped with a flat screen TV, DVD player, quality sound system and Internet access. A guest washroom is also located within this area.

Kitchen
The open kitchen is located behind the dining area and is a feature in itself with chic brown terrazzo worktops enhanced with wooden surfaces and pendulous lanterns. It is fully equipped with a 4-burner gas hob, refrigerator, juicer, blender, coffee machine, and a generous range of fine glassware and tableware. There is also a full service kitchen located within the Shalimar complex, where the in-house cooks create delicious meals, thereby ensuring that guests’ privacy is never compromised.

Bedrooms & Bathroom
All of the bedrooms are large, light, airy and stylish with cool floors and en-suite bathrooms. Two of the guestrooms are located on the same level as the pool. Each is housed within a self contained pavilion accessed by doors from the living area, in addition to two sets of sliding glass doors leading directly into the garden. Each bedroom features a built-in, king-size bed sculptured from polished concrete; diaphanous muslin drapes hang from the pitched thatched roof, and guests’ comfort is considered with the thoughtful provision of a ceiling fan in addition to air-conditioning, together with daybeds and tables. There is plenty of storage space with shelf units behind the bed, and wardrobes with frosted glass doors housing safe deposit boxes. One of these two guest rooms boasts a private veranda with a pergola-style roof draped in flowering thunbergia, it is furnished with a low table and a comfortable tamarind-wood daybed from where guests can enjoy the lovely garden and beach views. The en-suite garden bathrooms are also very large in size, and the traditional Balinese open-air style, sheltered by a pergola, is undoubtedly very romantic. Each of the bathrooms adjoining these two guest rooms is characterized by a sunken bathtub flanked by lotus ponds. Guests can enjoy garden views from the tubs, and bamboo blinds are provided for privacy. The bathrooms also feature pebbled floors with Palimanan flagstones, together with ‘his n hers’ double rain showers and twin washbasins; each toilet is hidden within an alcove, and there is even the thoughtful provision of a cushioned daybed. Two more large bedrooms are located upstairs; the design and furnishings are very similar to the downstairs bedrooms, with air-conditioning, ceiling fans and sculpted beds facing the spectacular ocean view. The panorama of the Balinese coastline extends all the way to Uluwatu on the tip of the island, while Javanese kingfishers can be spotted in the nearby river estuary, which is bordered by a never ending vista of rice fields. Each of these bedrooms boasts a walk-in wardrobe, and each spacious en-suite bathroom is equipped with an oversize sunken bathtub, washbasin, toilet, and a rain shower positioned within a glass cubicle. There are two more bedrooms located on a lower garden level. One is equipped with twin beds and ideal for children or nannies, the other is equipped with a king-size bed. Each presents attractive furnishings including a desk, air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. Each has a walk-in wardrobe with glass storage shelves, and an en-suite bathroom featuring a rain shower, washbasin and toilet, together with a glassless window, which allows the cool breezes to permeate.
